If you noticed, I didn’t use my trusty DSLR for this week’s challenge. Ditzy me, I forgot to charge it so I was left hanging at the last minute. But instead of posting a late entry again *cringe* I decided to just use my phone’s camera just this one time. I hope that’s forgivable, yes?
For this week’s photo challenge, I decided to use my beloved Kindle’s cover as subject. I placed it on a bond paper to juxtapose its kinda rough crosshatch texture against the smooth surface. The picture looks kinda senseless abstract when viewed from afar and I like that. 😉
Can’t believe you can get it that sharp with a phone cam! Awesome!

I used macro mode sis. That’s for close ups talaga. 🙂 Then I just bumped up the brightness and contrast in Photoshop to really bring out the texture.

I love the color of your cover! Join ako sa lahat, nice contrast! Na-guilty tuloy ako kasi super late ang entry ko for the 4th week.

Thanks sis! That’s okay, better late than never, right? 😉

I like the contrast you made by putting the subject on top of a white piece of paper! Good job!

Nice contrast! I have to agree it looks abstract from afar and yes, I love abstracts too. 🙂

I like it too. There is beauty in simplicity. And I like the idea of the bond paper thingy. I find it hard to find clear white spaces because most of the furniture at home is dark. Now I know how to achieve a clear and fresh looking photos.

Good idea with the paper. If you just took a photo of this on its own, then it will be truly “abstract” haha

True. I wasn’t sure I wanted it to be THAT abstract so I used the bond paper for some semblance of balance. 😉

Thanks Mitz! The original photo is darker, I had to use Photoshop to make the texture really stand out. 🙂

I’m so inggit, your phone cam is really nice. Mine sucks eggs. Hoping for an upgrade soon so my Instagram photos don’t look so kawawa hahaha. Nice photo! I love the contrast of the plain white with the textured striking purple. 🙂

Thanks Patty! 🙂 Fortunately, despite the cracked screen (my bad, I was so clumsy) my phone’s camera still does manage to take decent photos. Just some enhancement from Photoshop kasi medyo dark yung original photo.
