The truth is I just wanted to see if I could do a decent lipstick swatch. Mama happened to bring home two lipsticks one day, and so I tried and swatched them first before picking one and giving the other to her (though I liked both very much). I picked Sheer Red btw ;). These are both from Avon Ultra Moisture Rich line of lipsticks.
Sheer Red – ★★★★☆
Pros:
- Great MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade.
- Glides on smoothly.
- Moisturizing enough to let me skip putting on lip balm beforehand.
- Doesn’t dry out my lips.
Cons:
- True to its name, very sheer indeed so you have to swipe at least a couple of times to get a decent color payoff.
- Color fades in just 3 or 4 hours, and that’s without eating or drinking.
Knockout Pink – ★★★★☆
Pros:
- The color is bright but not vulgar.
- Glides on smoothly.
- Moisturizing enough to let me skip putting on lip balm beforehand.
- Decently pigmented. You can put or just dab a bit for a simple flush of color, or pile on more for a bright pop of color.
Cons:
- Actually more red than pink.
- Color fades in just 3 or 4 hours, and that’s without eating or drinking.
PS. How do you like my new siggy? 😉

I’m also more partial to Sheer Red. Knockout Pink seems too Legally Blonde-ish, but not in a nega way, ha? 😀

It actually looks more red than pink in real life, but I know what you mean. 😉

True, you just have to find your perfect shade of red. Pink is more “picky” at hindi lahat binabagayan. 😉
