Major change?

Having naturally straight but kinda unruly hair, I have always wished for curly locks. So you can imagine my happiness when after sleeping with my braid, my hair looked like this:

curlyYes, this is the same photo I sent him on Hangouts. πŸ˜‰

Unfortunately, the lovely curls were undone shortly after letting down my hair. 😦 I would love to have Margaux hair (Ina Kapatid Anak, anyone?) for good. Okay, so maybe not like for good per se because somewhere along the line I know I’d miss having straight tresses. Err, I’m not making sense. But maybe a digital perm would do, yeah? I’ve been thinking about having it done for the longest time now but have never gotten around to actually having it done. 😐 And there’s a Tony and Jackey salon nearby…

Oh, and for reference here’s what my hair looks like normally in all its messy, uncombed glory state:

On another somewhat related note, I just discovered that the local Watson’s now has Dariya Palty bubble hair color. And they’re priced on par if not cheaper than online stores at just P499 a pack. Good news, right? πŸ˜€

Dariya Palty

I have been considering buyingΒ a color or two online for some time now but have not had the guts yet to actually color my hair. πŸ˜› Maybe this is the impetus I need. I’ve consulted with him and he confirmed that I’d look better with a reddish-based color than blonde-based. Which is just about perfect since Raspberry JamΒ (left-most in the picture) is available. My hair is relatively untreated (hot oil or keratin treatment is the extent of salon experience it has) so it would go darker on me–probably just give my locks a slight reddish tint–which is fine by me since I don’t want that drastic a change in the first place. πŸ˜‰

What do you think should I do to my hair? Or should I just leave it as is?

    • Hi Nathalie. Try sleeping with your braids damp (not wet). This way your curls will last until you wet them again. I like drying my hair completely then dampening with a spray bottle and mousse before using my curl former (rollers, twisty benders, curlformer(tm), braids, etc) of choice. Take your hair down only when completely dry. πŸ™‚

  1. Hahaha, straight din hair ko, and sometimes I wish I had natural loose waves. When I found out how much my quasi-sister-in-law spent on rebonding, I tried to appreciate my hair more. But still! Ganda talaga ng waves/ loose curls. Very effortlessly beautiful.

Parang ang dami na nang watsons na bubble color, meron din silang Richenna.

    • I know, right? Some spend so much to have straight hair while I want to curl my straight hair. πŸ˜€ Then again, my hair is not the mukhang ni-rebond kind of straight, as you can see in the photo it has a very slight tendency to “wave” from the middle to the ends. πŸ˜›

Yeah, I’ve seen the Richenna at Watson’s too. I wonder if they’ll carry Kao Prettia too in the future? πŸ˜‰

      • I did it once in my life (after our wedding)… then cut my hair short after a few months… I cannot keep up with the maintenance requirements. Hehe. But it was a fabulous experience. πŸ˜‰

        • Is the digiperm as high-maintenance as I keep reading it is? I do not want to have to cut my hair short just to get rid of the waves/curls. 😐 I have this notion that my locks will eventually literally straighten themselves out in a few months. πŸ˜›

        • I went to an ordinary perming procedure before, since digiperm was so new then… Im not so sure about the maintenance requirements of digiperm as against the traditional one. But I was required to put hair serum to prevent dryness and I was forced to comb (using wide tooth comb) to put my hair in order, something I can usually skip with my straight hair. That makes it high maintenance for me. πŸ˜‰
